**GENERAL POSITIONS** 
(FILLED) Position: Adult Sport Facility Attendant (Adult Leagues)Applications will be reviewed beginning mid-March.
Hours/Week: 15-20 hours/week

Days Required: Monday-Thursday (evenings)

Wage: $15.00/hour 

Description: The adult sport facility attendant is responsible for assisting onsite evening supervision of adult athletic programs. The programs include Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Slowpitch Softball, and Fastpitch Softball teams. The facility attendant will be responsible for assisting the Recreation Program Supervisor with coordinating games, umpires’ assignments, maintaining standings, and overseeing nightly activities of the program at various sites nightly. Access to vehicle required. Previous experience in sports organization preferred. Community relations and effective communication with adult sport population a plus. This position begins in April and ends in October.Must possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Wage: $19.00/hour mileage

Description: The concession operations specialist will be a working manager at all City operated concession stands. Responsibilities include scheduling hours, supervising concession workers, balancing daily cash receipts, ordering products, inventory of supplies, and communicating and working with many community groups and volunteers. Must track all sales, purchases, and prepare payments to vendors and community groups. Applicant should be a mature, responsible adult with organizational skills. Restaurant, supervisory and/or cash handling experience preferred. Applicant must be available year-round. Must possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Driver’s License. 

(FILLED) Position: Lead Concession/Admission Facilitator

Description: The concession/admission lead will be an onsite working leader at one of four concessions locations. Responsibilities include leading the daily operation of concessions sites, scheduling staff and supervising workers, balancing daily cash receipts, ordering products, and inventory of supplies. Applicant should be a mature, responsible adult with organizational skills. Leadership and/or cash handling experience preferred.

(FILLED) Position: River City Adventures Program Planner

Description: The River City Adventures Program Planner is responsible for the organization of the neighborhood summer school shelter program. Applicants must be available June - August. The Program Planner is responsible for program curriculum implementation, attendance recording, leadership of activity staff, and participant behavior management. College background in recreation, physical education, or elementary education preferred. Must possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Driver’s License. 

(FILLED) Position: Soccer Program Planner

Wage: $18.00/hour mileage

Description: The soccer program planner is responsible for a youth soccer program with approximately 800 participants and 75 volunteer coaches. The program planner assists the Recreation Program Supervisor with recruiting and training coaches, organizing teams, scheduling practices and games, handling equipment, inventory, administrative reports, and supervising officials. Experience directing athletics and soccer is preferred. Applicant must be available mid-April-mid-August. Must possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Driver’s License. 

(FILLED) Position: Specialized Recreation Program Planner

Description: The Specialized Recreation Program Planner is responsible for the organization and coordination of summer programs for youth and adults of varying abilities. Applicants should be available from June 1 - August 15. Desirable qualifications include previous experience supervising employees and considerable experience working with special populations. College background in Therapeutic Recreation, Adapted Physical Education, or Special Education is desirable. Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED is recommended. Must possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Driver’s License. 

SPECIALIZED ACTIVITY POSITION(Most positions begin on or around June 1)Position: American Sign Language DPI Certified Specialist

Description: Ability to instruct youth in grades K-8 the basics of ASL. Proficiency in ASL is required. Responsible for planning and implementing curriculum. Must be WI DPI licensed teacher.

Description: Coordinates an outdoor recreation day camp program for 3-5-year olds. Assists with the recruitment and training of staff, organization and coordination of a daytime early childhood sports program. Desirable qualifications include previous experience supervising employees, working with pre-school age population, and recreation management or elementary education background. Description: Ability to lead a flag football training camp program for 7-11-year olds. Football coaching experience preferred but not required. Instructor will review and plan the curriculum, assign duties to assisting staff, and teach skills. The job will start late July with planning followed by leading two Youth Camps. The first camp runs the last week in July and the second camp runs the first week in August. Training camp is held in the evening at the Carson Park Football Stadium. This job will be a total of about 15 hours. Must be WI DPI licensed teacher.

Description: Applicants must be available June 1-August 15. Applicants assist in providing an afternoon specialized education program for school aged youth ages 6-21 with disabilities and an evening social club for adults. The daytime youth program meets Monday-Thursday afternoons and the adult evening program meets Wednesdays. 1-2 years of experience with disabled children and/or adults; leadership experience helpful. Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED is recommended. (FILLED) Position: T-Ball DPI Certified Specialist

AQUATIC POSITIONS:All applicants must be available May 14-August 31. Our recreational and instructional swimming operations will be conducted at indoor pools located at area schools and the outdoor pool located at Fairfax Municipal Park.

(FILLED) Position: Fairfax Pool Facility Specialist (2 positions)

Days Required: Monday-Sundays (must work alternate weekends)

Wage: $19.00/hour

Description: Responsible for on-site operation of the Fairfax Park Municipal Pool. Includes supervision of employees, patrons, creation of work schedules, staff assignments, financial reports, cash reconciliation and verifying payroll. Coordinates pool operations and records maintenance and safety issues. Qualifications should include experience supervising employees and several years’ experience as a lifeguard. Current certification requirements include the American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED. Certification preferred: Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI). This position begins mid-May and ends August 31. 

(FILLED) Position: Aquatic Program Planner (2 positions)

Description: The program planner is responsible for swim instruction and water fitness programs held at area pools. The planner supervises approximately 25 swim instructors and lifeguards. Certifications required include current Water Safety Instructor and American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED. Desirable qualifications include experience supervising staff and sound knowledge of the Red Cross Aquatic Programs. Certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer or Lifeguard Instructor is recommended. This position begins mid-May and ends August 31. Must possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Driver’s License. 

 
(FILLED) Position: Adaptive Swimming Instructor – WSI (4 positions)

Description: Responsible for assisting the Aquatic Program Planner in coordinating the day to day operations at their worksite and assisting with other duties as assigned. The Head Instructor is responsible for assisting with the development and training of all instructors assigned to their site through mentoring, shadowing, and leading activities at orientation and in-services. 2-3 years experience teaching swim lessons and certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor are required. Ensures that all skills are taught and practiced according to the American Red Cross program guidelines; completes all paperwork as it pertains to each American Red Cross class; assists with maintaining teaching equipment and updating course materials as needed; professionally handles various sized classes; communicates well with teens and adults; maintains a professional demeanor and appearance when instructing classes; proficiently demonstrates all American Red Cross lifeguarding skills and rescues; and keeps up to date on newest Red Cross policies, programs, and trends. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and Lifeguarding/First Aid/ CPR AED certifications are required. WSI or WSIT certification is a plus. Limited numbers of shifts are available May 1-June 1. Applicant must be available June 1-August 14.
