Eaton is Hiring a Quality Analyst - Teardown Near Sumter, SC

Eaton’s ES CRDS COMM division is currently seeking a Quality Analyst - Teardown. This position takes place out of our Sumter, SC facility.

In the Quality Analyst role, you will perform data collection, data entry, record keeping, customer visits, training, material containment, warranty support and root cause analysis. You will be responsible for interacting with personnel inside and outside the plant including customers, satellites, distributors, assembly groups, materials, etc. This is a physically demanding position that will involve movement and lifting throughout the shift.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $43499.97 - $63799.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Perform root cause analysis and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement by troubleshooting, updating or developing test setups and procedures and work cross-functionally to resolve issues.
  • Train manufacturing associates, providing assistance as needed to clarify product and process requirements.
  • Support Supplier Quality initiatives, tools and processes by inspecting raw materials for defects, performing root cause analysis, First Article Inspection (FAI) for supplied product, and updating or creating Control Plans as required.
  • Collect and analyze data, including documenting non-conformances, and effectively communicate issues to appropriate parties, verifying required rework.
  • Support Quality Tool deployment and participate in the training of employees as the technical subject matter expert for quality tools and processes, including 5 Whys, Check Sheets, Pareto, Affinity Diagrams, and Control Charts.
  • Support ISO 9001:2015, Eaton Quality Management System, and Eaton Quality System deployment by performing audits, including EQS and integrated audits, ensuring deployment of tools, and assisting with addressing any audit findings or issues.
  • Manage Teardown duties for ALL returned, damaged, and warrantied products returned to Eaton Sumter and disposition parts accordingly based on the product condition.
  • Support the assigned value stream by managing daily floor calls, attending tier meetings, reporting quality metrics, investigating complaints and supporting the quality council actions.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of experience with Fabrication, Panelboards, and/or Switchboards.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Eaton systems including order entry (Vista), material management (DMM), Plant Order Manager (POM), WISPER, MRP/ERP (AS400), Quality Tool (MQ1)
  • Experience with Panelboards and/or Switchboards
  • Experience verifying components such as switches and circuit breakers function properly.
  • Experience verifying torqued connections using torque wrench, per inspection instructions.
  • 1 year of Quality related experience

Skills:

  • Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint
  • Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Able to direct and influence others without formal leadership authority.
  • Working knowledge of Eaton Lean Systems, Eaton Quality Systems, Eaton Safety Process, basic electricity principles, and ISO 9000.
  • Working knowledge of Panelboard, Switchboard, and / or Fabrication operation/functionality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
