About the role:

The primary responsibilities of the UX intern will be to assist the UX and Product team in product, market, and user research. This role will be focused on helping analyze user tests, data, and interactions to help propose solutions to the organization’s UI. Tasks will include watching user recordings and documenting trends/results, reviewing user data, matrixing user feedback to user flows, creating research result presentations, building/executing UX research plans.

Additionally, the intern will work closely with the UX Design lead and assist in maintaining UI library documentation and support creating wireframes as needed. Towards the end of the internship, there may be opportunities for this role to be assigned projects and build new feature wireframes and final production mocks, however, this role is very UX research focused.

This internship will be remote with a maximum of 8 hours a week for 6 months in duration. For the best learning and networking opportunities, these hours may not always be at a consistent time each week to allow for the intern to join various meetings with the EasyPost team as they come up. This role will report to the UX Design Lead who will work closely with the candidate on availability and around school schedules, but some schedule flexibility will be required.

What you will do:

  • Analyze user recordings and document trends.
  • Conduct shipping industry competitive research analyzing EasyPost competitor product offerings.
  • Assist UX designer in matrixing user research results to useflows.
  • Work alongside EasyPost Product team to develop and execute research plans.
  • Create and run user interviews.
  • Partner with the EasyPost Data team to analyze user data.
  • Create and Present research results and recommendations to the EasyPost Product Team.
  • Update and maintain a Figma component library alongside UX team.
  • Build out user flows and stories alongside user research.
  • Participate in EasyPost Product brainstorming and working sessions.

About you:

Must have the following:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or master’s degree in design, HCI, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with design thinking and human-centered design.
  • Well-organized and able to manage time effectively.
  • Some experience with Figma and FigJam, with a working understanding of how to use it to build user flows and mockups.
  • Experience working with Google Workspace software including Gmail, docs, slides and sheets.
  • Flexible 8 hours of availability per week during business hours of 9-5 (Mountain Standard Time).
  • Example project (either theoretical/school assignment, or real experience) highlighting understanding of user research when creating UX proposals / wireframes.
  • Strong and reliable internet connection.

Nice to Have:

  • Junior or Senior level student with expected graduation of 2025 or 2026.
  • Curiosity and a critical thinking mindset are highly appreciated.
  • Experience in data visualization and data collection.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the shipping/logistics industry.
  • An online portfolio highlighting research based UX design.
