This QC and Food Safety supervisor leads a team of cross-functional hourly associates on their shift within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They will facilitate teams in his/her area of responsibility and conduct or coordinate the necessary training for the associates reporting to them. This supervisor will implement and enforce established policies and strategies.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Responsible for overseeing the quality control department and ensuring that all Quality Control Technicians understand and follow the responsibilities assigned which in turn verify that all Quality and Food Safety requirements of the product manufactured/received at Easy Foods, Inc. are complying.
• Conduct verification and maintenance of the food safety and quality systems, hazard analysis and sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, and finished products.
• Collaborates with other departments on initiating corrective action and preventative measures when necessary.
• Ensure adherence to corporate, regulatory, customer, and facility food safety and quality requirements and completion of corrections and corrective actions.
• Conduct internal audits regularly in collaboration with Quality and Food Safety Manager
• Oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of all existing and new QC department SOPs.
• · Prepare and assist in the annual SQF audit such as data analysis, customer complaint root cause investigation, identify trends, and process issues, and consult on corrective actions when needed.
• · Enforce GMP, SOP, and SSOP practices.
• · Provide guidance and leadership in situations where deviations/potential risk have been identified related to food safety and (or) quality attributes.
• · Provide innovative and strategic ideas to support company growth.
• · Monitor and verify that the Critical Control Point (Metal Detectors) per line, are working properly based on the Food Safety Plan (HARPC)
• · Conduct root cause analysis on defective materials and customer complaints regarding quality issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in science or related field and/or 3 years in a QA/QC position in the food industry with management-level experience in HARPC, USDA, or FDA required.

· Comprehensive knowledge GMP’s

· Extensive understanding of GFSI standards such as SQF, FSSC, etc..

· Bilingual (Spanish and English) with ability to work efficiently and effectively communicate with others.

· Ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from managers, customers, and others.

· Able to work unsupervised and manage independently.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere with a high level of accountability.

· High level of personal initiative, self-driven, action and results oriented. and autonomy.

· Excellent multi-tasking abilities with extreme attention to detail, as well as organization, prioritization, and communication skills

· Must be flexible with work hours and days, including weekends if needed.

· Detail oriented, and possess strong computer skills, including MS Office and Excel. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

· The following physical activities are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: extensive standing, walking on concrete surfaces, and climbing stairs. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds and must have accuracy in vision and hearing.

Preferred Qualifications:

· PCQI Certification

· Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience

· GFSI Standard Certification Training and/or HACCP training certification

· Participated in GFSI on-site audits/appropriate government regulations audits
