Eastridge is Hiring a Paralegal Near Chicago, IL

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is hiring a Trial Litigation Paralegal for one of the preeminent criminal defense firms in Chicago. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trial preparation, reviewing medical records, X-rays, MRI’s and doctors' notes for trial
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to trial litigation matters.
  • Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Manage and organize trial documents, exhibits, and evidence, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Coordinate witness interviews, depositions, and trial schedules, and maintain communication with all relevant parties.
  • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibit lists, and trial exhibits for use during trial proceedings.
  • Assist in the preparation of trial presentations, including electronic presentations and demonstrative exhibits.
  • Provide administrative support during trials, including courtroom setup, logistics coordination, and witness coordination.
  • Assist with post-trial activities, such as drafting post-trial motions and managing appeals processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the legal team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field.
  • 5 years experience working as a litigation paralegal, with specific experience in trial litigation preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and external parties.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with electronic discovery (e-discovery) tools and processes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
