POSITION: Animal Management InstructorREPORTS TO: Principal, Fairfield Career CenterAPPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until position is filledSTARTING DATE: August 5, 2024QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants must have at least five recent years of animal management experience and be able to secure a license as a career/technical instructor through education and work-related experiences; Applicant must demonstrate attainment of specific skills and knowledge in the content standards and sample course outlines; Industry credential preferred from one or more of the following – American Association of Laboratory Animal Science, National Dog Groomers Association, Pet Industry Joint Advisor Council, Veterinary Technician certification; Teaching experience preferred; Ability to work with business/industry and post-secondary institutions required; Must successfully pass BCI/FBI background check.RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction in junior and senior labs/classrooms that prepare students for a career in the Animal Management/Veterinary Science field. Job responsibilities include providing opportunities for prospective students to explore this career path. Teacher must also coordinate all aspects of the program with an advisory committee. Lab instruction also includes promotion of student involvement in Career Technical Student Organizations. Teacher must also assist students in work-based learning experiences and future employment opportunities in cooperation with local animal management practices.
