JOB TITLE: Food Service Assistant

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time (40 hours a week) Monday – Friday

WORK LOCATION: Paducah, KY

POSITION SUMMARY:

Easterseals West Kentucky, Inc. is searching for a full-time Food Service Assistant. The Food Service Assistant will be responsible for developing, planning and preparing proper nutritional meals for children and adults following the Child and Adult Care Food Program Guidelines. They will also complete all required documentation and adhere to all guidelines set by state and local agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Food Service Assistant will perform all or some of the following:

• Participate in a kitchen environment including, but not limited to cooking, cleaning and documentation
• Understand and prepare meals for children with food allergies or modified diets
• Prepare quality meals and snacks
• Ensure proper health and sanitization is implemented at all times
• Follow all company policies and state regulations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND KEY COMPETENICES:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Willing to obtain or have a ServSafe Certification
• Previous experience required, knowledge of basic health and food guidelines
• Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects and goals
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Must be a citizen of the United States and possess a valid driver’s license
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
