Easterseals MORC is Hiring a Behavior Technician - Full-Time and Contingent Near Troy, MI

Contingent, must be available to work evenings a few days per week

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Provides top quality 1:1 ABA therapy to children with autism, within the home and/or ABA center, with direct oversight by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
  • Uses the principals of ABA to teach self-help, academic, motor, play, social skills, language, and appropriate adaptive behaviors.
  • Assists in daily cleaning protocols when working at the center. Aids children in typical tasks analysis, including but not limited to daily routines, such as dressing, toileting, washing up, brushing teeth, eating, cleaning up, etc.
  • Implement ABA treatment protocols with fidelity, as directed by a BCBA. Accurately completes all required documentation and data collection protocol during every session.
  • Patiently manages inappropriate behaviors, using protocol determined by the BCBA.
  • Receives and implements feedback from a BCBA , both during live supervision and written evaluations. Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of client information at all times.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience working with children
  • Experience working with children with autism (preferred, not required)
  • High-school diploma
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Personal & reliable transportation
  • Valid drivers license & auto insurance
  • Willing to travel to home-based sessions as needed
  • Open availability between the hours of 3pm to 7pm (preferred, not required)
  • Willing to undergo a criminal background check
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs; sit in a child size chair or on the floor and quickly switch from sitting to standing; walk, jog, or run quickly
