DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend all scheduled shifts (this position may be full time or part time)
  • Provide formal and informal resident training in the facility.
  • Document progress and ensure daily documentation is completed.
  • Assist residents with scheduling and following up with behavioral health and primary care appointments.
  • Communicate with staff and other providers.
  • Attend and actively participate in mandatory staff meetings.

Required SkillsI. PROVISION FOR RESIDENTIAL SERVICES:
  • Ensure the daily schedule in the facility is followed.
  • Follow the Plan of Care for facility and community-based training.
  • Document all activities and services provided per the plan of care.
  • Communicate any recommendations/concerns regarding the implementation of the plan to the Residential Supervisor.
  • Ensure the Residential Supervisor is notified of any emergency or urgent needs related to wellbeing or safety of residents and facility.
  • Establish ongoing rapport with residents and assist them with learning and implementing skills in the facility and in the community.
  • Ensure residents and his/her identified support systems are treated with respect and dignity.
  • Respond to resident needs in a timely manner.
  • Implement training activities for residents.
  • Report to Residential Supervisor regarding progress, regression, or recommendations.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings to open lines of communication and stay informed of agency, program, and facility changes.
  • Participate in support groups and other facility activities if requested.
II. CLIENT FILE MAINTENANCE
  • Records, plans, legal forms, and other documentation are kept accurate and up to date.
  • All services provided are documented and appropriately signed and dated and in the appropriate location in the chart based on funding source, policy, and supervisor.
  • Documentation reflects current services, interventions, participant participation, progress toward
goals and/or any challenges or barriers to achieving goals.
III. PROVIDE ASSISTANCE OR FILL IN FOR OTHER STAFF AS NEEDED AND/ORDIRECTED BY RESIDENTIAL ADVISOR SUPERVISORIV. PARTICIPATE IN DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC RELATIONS ACTIVITIES TOEDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND MARKET PROGRAM SERVICES.
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Provide input and assistance to Residential Supervisor and Program Director in the preparation of reports, outcomes or other program specific data as requested.
  • Work with Residential Supervisor and Program Director to ensure maximum collaboration and coordination with other Easterseals staff, e.g., administrative assistants, other project managers, service coordinators, program development staff, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with Residential Supervisor and Program Director in evaluating program effectiveness and compliance within funding source requirements, policy compliance and program goals.
VI. STAFF DEVELOPMENT
  • Participate in training activities and programs as required by funding source, policy, and supervisor.
  • Participate in training for certifications, credentials or specialties as determined appropriate by Easterseals Louisiana, funding source or supervisor.
  • Complete a minimum of 40 hours of training per year.

  • Building Relationships – Ability to establish rapport with participants of diverse backgrounds, provider agencies, community stakeholders, co-workers and Easterseals administration.
  • Team Playing – Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, other Easterseals Support Coordinators Other Residential Advisors, and Supervisors.
  • Mission Advocacy – Ability to identify with project and Easterseals objectives; adequately, constructively, and directly communicate these objectives. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have at a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. This may be waived if the Residential Advisor is working towards his/her education but has substantial community awareness.
  • Must demonstrate significant empathy for clients served.
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Have basic skills to use a computer.
  • Must be a collaborator.
Physical Requirements
  • The employee is regularly required to operate a computer, type documentation into web-based applications, file and retrieve written documents, communicate with others on the phone and inperson.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands, and lift and/or move lightweight items.
  • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
