Eastern Shipbuilding Group is Hiring an IS Specialist I Near Panama, FL

THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN PANAMA CITY FLORIDA

Functions

Provides critical data support to ILS the teams. ILS Research and analysis functions may include Provisioning, Technical Manual and ILS Status tracking, Compliance Comment evaluation, and monitoring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

  • Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Responsible for supporting all ILS contract deliverables including but not limited to: RCM Analysis, Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Reports, Design Change Notices, Engineering Data for Provisioning, Ship or Cutter information Book (SIB/CIB), Damage Control Technical Data and Commercial Equipment Manuals, Drawings, and other technical data.
  • Provide parts and material-technical specifications reports to the ILS Manager for the status of OPC purchases.
  • Review technical specifications developed by engineering for incorporation into requisitions and quotes.
  • Assist in drafting ILS technical packages for USCG reviews.
  • Work on a collaborative Integrated Data Environment (IDE) and manage the configuration of the ship’s baseline.
  • Ensure ILS product deliverables comply with the contract.
  • Interface with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)/Suppliers/Subcontractors to obtain Vendor Furnished Information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the ILS Supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 1 or more years providing technical support in a Manufacturing or Engineering environment to include compartmental load out or ship outfitting, under a USN or USCG contract.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Skills:

  • Intermediate level Microsoft Suite experience including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.
  • Requires excellent written, oral, and presentation/ communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly technical and fast paced detailed design and construction program environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

This job will operate in multiple environments, including a professional office environment, and Shipboard during the production, outfit, test, and delivery phases of each Ship. Employees must be able to work in a ship production environment, including climbing, entering tanks and voids, etc., in all weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
