Maintenance

Job Title: Maintenance Staff

General Definition: In this position the selected staff member will be responsible for all aspects of facilities maintenance at ESTOO. This will include, but not be limited to instillation, repair and routine maintenance of all ESTO properties, repair and maintenance of electrical and plumbing, auto mechanics, etc. They will also work in cooperation with fellow employees to provide routine maintenance of all ESTO structures, buildings, and grounds. Hours may vary according to business needs and other duties as assigned. The highest duty of this position is to provide effective and timely service to Tribal members and fellow employees.

Supervision Received: Maintenance Director

None

Essential Job Functions:

· Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from the Director.

· Performs skilled maintenance and repair activities including, but not limited to electrical, heat & air, plumbing, auto mechanics and carpentry.

· Uses tools and equipment and operates vehicles in a safe manner.

· Maintains and repairs wood structures, repairs, and replaces building brick, stone and concrete as needed.

· Maintains an accurate record of repairs and assignments in a timely manner, within budget guidelines and following established standards established by maintenance policies and procedures.

· Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner and interacts courteously with Tribal members, co-workers, staff, customers, and the public in general.

· Cuts grass and trims weeds on organization’s property.

· Operates snow removal equipment safely to maintain parking lots and sidewalks during inclement weather.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education:

· High School Diploma or GED required

· Current valid driver’s license

Native American preference policy is as follows: Legally enrolled Eastern Shawnee Tribal members shall be given preference if the tribal member’s experience, qualifications, training, and all other criteria including the job posting are equal. Tribal Members or Citizens of other federally recognized Tribes shall have second preference following the same criteria, followed by any other applicants. (Resolution # 021011-R-03) Only Certified Degree of Indian Blood cards will be accepted as verification of Native American Heritage for other tribes. Copy of CDIB card must be included with the application.
