POSITION SUMMARY:
The Respiratory Development Specialist works collaboratively to design and implement competency programs, orientation, and education to CP staff. Responsible for developing and conducting in-service programs and continuing education for all CP staff. Provides orientation to new residents and RNs as applicable. Serves as a skilled resource to CP staff, Physicians, RN educators and ancillary support departments.
Provides clinical leadership and expertise. Facilitates the development of collegial relationships. Visible, accessible and committed to communicating effectively with staff. Promotes the profession of Cardiopulmonary and professional practice.
Works collaboratively with Admin. Director, CP Team Leader and other applicable departments on projects relating to implementation of new CP equipment and protocols.
Works collaboratively with the CP Team Leader and the Quality Improvement Department to ensure the Cardiopulmonary Department is in compliance with JCAHO, state and federal standards.
Acts as a liaison between the Hospital and Respiratory Therapy Programs.
