East Valley ER Hospital is Hiring an Emergency RN - Full Time Night Near Gilbert, AZ

Exciting opportunity at Phoenix ER and East Valley ER and Hospital! We are seeking RN's for Full Time Night positions at our facility in Chandler, Arizona and Gilbert, Arizona. Must be a team player, committed to compassionate and excellent patient care.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will work in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient and family to promote patient health through delivery of professional nursing care appropriate to patients age and condition as documented in the nursing and medical plans of care in accordance with evidence-based nursing and patient care practice standards and hospital goals, values and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Completes nursing assessment of patient conditions consistent with age and condition, including physical, psychological, social, developmental, and educational factors, to determine initial level of compliance with treatment plan per policy and unit guidelines. Performs ongoing patient and family assessments and identifies variations from diagnoses.

Continually evaluates patient responses to care, teaching, and discharge plans. Documents patient progress in appropriate charts and shares observations and assessment outcomes with healthcare team and families to ensure timely communication and understanding of patient health status, progress, and ongoing needs.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing required activities within established parameters to ensure compliance with all applicable medication, storage and documentation standards, regulations, and requirements.

Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Excellent customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills.

Provides orientation to the unit, hospital systems, and processes to patients and family members to ensure familiarity with unit’s policies and requirements.

Supervises patient care activities of assigned team members and delegates activities appropriate to knowledge, skill, and competency. Provides timely feedback and review of care delivery to ensure maintenance of patient safety, infection control procedures, therapeutic environment, and team members’ performance level, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.

Works collaboratively with patient care team and family members to establish and implement plan of care to ensure coordination of activities and ongoing communication of patient health status.

Participates in the evaluation and/or development of new procedures, instrumentation and quality improvement initiatives and assists in creating changes to increase department effectiveness. Demonstrates willingness to adapt to new procedures, instrumentation and processes. Assesses specimen quality and integrity for patient age, appropriate type, volume, and patient identification within the scope of their education and training. Incorporates all appropriate factors when determining specimen quality for testing. Understands how to research specimen requirements. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested by the CNO or Supervising Nurse. May at times be asked to be in charge for a shift(s). PHYSICAL/ MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a hospital environment with frequent interruptions/ contact with patients. Environment contains inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, bodily fluids or tissues or a potential for spills or splashes of them. Appropriate protective measures are required for every employee engaged in Category 1 tasks. Employee must have the ability to withstand considerable walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling and stooping daily. Able to handle and cope with moderate to high amount of job stress.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

This role may require and include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion based upon needs or requirements. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department. Will maintain all necessary licensure and accreditations as required by the facility. Completes annual education requirements. Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean. Always maintains patient confidentiality. Maintains regulatory requirements. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time. Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly. Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion. Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.

RESPONSIBILITIES, SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY

Responsible for safety and comfort of patients and the health and safety of the employees assigned to the patient care area. Collaborate with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean and secure environment of the patient, staff and visitors. Help to ensure proper supply levels of materials and equipment within the department. Assist with re-stocking the department when needed. Participate in the open communication within the nursing unit and with other units and departments to ensure appropriate and accurate patient care. Attend and participates in the practice of emergency protocols, fire drills, evacuation procedures and internal/ external disaster drills. Work with medical staff to coordinate medical, nursing and pharmacy management of patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two-year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four-year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree.

Certifications/Licenses/Registries

Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date.

Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. ACLS as applicable by Facility/by Department. ER: PALS required or must obtain within thirty days of employment.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
