JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:
Pool Supervisor

Department:
Restaurants & Bars
Reports to: Director of Restaurants- Quinto

Nature of the Job
Basic Purpose & Objective of the Position
Responsible for the operations of the pool facilities and the food & beverage outlet located in the pool areas on the assigned shift. Responsible for training and supervising all pool team members.

Main Duties
General Oversees and supervises all areas of the pool and makes final decisions on matters of importance to guest service.
Customer Services
  • Delivers the brand promise and provides exceptional guest service at all times.
  • Provides excellent service to internal customers.
  • Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
  • Handles all guest and employee complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner. Communicates immediately all guest and employee complaints to the Director of Restaurants & Bars, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
Operational
  • Ensures a safe and healthy aquatic environment for all hotel guests.
  • Responsible for developing, training and disciplining of all pool employees as well as the food & beverage staff at the pool.
  • Ensure the policies and procedures for the pool are appropriately followed
  • Assist with all pool staff scheduling, ensuring proper coverage and labor costs are within budget.
  • Ordering all necessary supplies and equipment for pool
  • Processing and proving pool employee payroll daily, as necessary.
  • Handling elevated guest complaints, problem payments and food & beverage service issues at the pool outlets.
  • Monitors the status of all food & beverage orders at the pool to ensure orders are being delivered in a timely basis.
  • Ensures all food is served and prepared within health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Performs walk-through of the facilities to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance.
  • Ensures staff is providing outstanding guest service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
People Development
  • Supports Swire Hotels’ cultural and people development implementations and characteristics.
  • Develops employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews, in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs. Prepares schedules and ensures that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts. Community Involvement
  • Provides strong presence in local community and high level of community involvement by restaurant and personnel.
  • Supervises on-going training initiatives.
  • Uses all available on the job training tools for employees.
Other Duties
  • Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with Quinto policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • At all times provides a favorable image of Quinto to promote its “We Care” philosophy. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in a pool environment preferred.
  • Previous pool operations management experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge managing staff, pool operations, training, and pool safety.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Efficient using computers, including but not limited to Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of “point of sale” systems preferred.
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group situations, as well as one-on-one
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • High school diploma or equivalent
