Position Title: Summer Fun Club Assistant Manager

Department: Student Services/Revenue
Reports To: Revenue Programs Manager

Summary:
Provide oversight and management in the day-to-day operations of the Summer Fun Club Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties would include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide a supportive environment for students and other staff within the program.
  • Demonstrate patience, guidance and foster positive relationships with students as well as staff

and families.

  • Maintain a safe environment at all times
  • Supervise students and staff at all times.
  • Coordinate and deliver enriching and engaging activities to the children including but not limited

to:

  • Setting up weekly field trips (including bussing/student grouping for trips)
  • Setting up weekly guest speakers/programming
  • Developing a summer permission slip and distributing/collecting them from all

parents.

  • Planning and organizing outdoor/indoor games, crafts, etc.
  • Distribute important camp information to all parents.
  • Collect and document important paperwork by deadlines (field trip permission slips, waivers for

specific trips, sunblock waivers, medical forms)

  • Maintain records of medical issues, injuries, and behavioral issues.
  • Keep a confidential record of all documented paperwork.
  • Assist in implementation of program policies.
  • Maintain daily scheduled attendance.
  • Maintain staff schedules, always reporting absences or changes in schedules to the Revenue

Programs Manager.

  • Communicate effectively to staff, students, and families.
  • Run brief weekly meetings/check-ins with staff to discuss weekly activities,

guidance, and day-to-day directions regarding their responsibilities.

  • Expectations to students
  • Information and incidents to parents
  • Communicate regularly with Revenue Programs Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Assist Revenue Program Manager with information to review performance of camp aides.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience:

Associates degree or three years or more of supervisory/management experience leading a summer

camp or childcare program.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Certification is not required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret text. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability

to effectively present information and respond to questions from parents, colleagues, and the

community. Ability to effectively communicate and establish/maintain effective relationships with

students, staff and parents.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to be self-reflective.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to execute plans and programs based on program objectives and the needs/abilities of students

to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers,

parents, and community. Ability to create a positive working environment. Ability to be self-directed and

organize time, space, and materials. Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral

communication. Ability to operate photocopying, fax machines, and computers. Ability to assume

responsibility for supervising students, understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

May 22-June 16

Up to 5 hours/week to prepare for summer (with the assistance from the Revenue Program Manager) to

include running training of staff in preparation for the summer.

June 19-August 11

40 hours/week
Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with 1 hour unpaid lunch
