Job Title: District Instruction and Assessment Coordinator Reports to: Superintendent Nature And Scope Of JobThe Instruction and Assessment Coordinator is a teacher on special assignment position that will provide leadership, and guidance of instructional systems aligned to the EGSD Strategic Plan and Colorado Academic Standards to support all students, especially SPED, ELL, MTSS, SRD, Title and at- risk student populations. The position will coordinate The Coordinator will also serve as the primary resource person for all state and district assessments. The Coordinator will oversee federal requirements related to Title programs, state requirements related to the READ Act, and district professional development. Job Functions
Coordinates school wide and classroom suppport for improving teaching and learning in all collaboration with the administrative team.
Leads the adoption process of new curricular resources aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards, and the CO READ Act.
Plans and supports training and implementation of new curricular resources and instructional strategies.
Coordinates the implementation of School Readiness Plans, READ Plans, ELL/ELA programming and MTSS Plans for consistency between schools and to facilitate
student growth.
Acts as an advocate for English Language Learners and their parents/guardians and ensures compliance for ELL programs as well as ACCESS testing. Facilitates district
EL committee.
Provides updated information and leadership in the areas of the Colorado Academic Standards, assessments, and best practices for teaching and learning.
Coordinates the administration of all State and District assessments including ordering, distribution, training, administration troubleshooting, check-in, and
packaging/shipping.
Interpret and report on student assessment data results and its implication for the district wide systems of teaching and learning. Coordinates assessment practices and staff
development in the use of all assessments to inform instructional practice.
Collaborates with the IT department and staff to keep assessment systems, curricular systems, and other technologies updated and functioning optimally.
Coordinates parent and community involvement activities to improve student literacy, and actively promotes communication with parents and the community through outreach
programs. Responsible for ensuring required parent notifications. (eg, family literacy night, ELL parent night, etc.)
Serves as the liaison between the Colorado Department of Education, NWBOCES and the district regarding assessment information, Title meetings, and various CDE/NWBOCES
meetings as needed.
Supports building administration in implementing building level unified improvement plans.
Supports building administration in implementing new initiatives aligned with district goals.
Researches, assists in writing, and oversees implementation of grants, collecting data and reporting as necessary.
Serves on building and district committees as appropriate.
Collaborates with stakeholders to assist with writing the District Unified Improvement Plan.
Collaborates with the superintendent and assists with writing the Consolidated Application.
Keeps informed of and complies with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Compiles, maintains, and files all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required.
Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
Job Qualifications
Master’s Degree preferred
Five years experience as a classroom teacher
Experience or strong knowledge of special education and ELL programs, the science of reading and teaching reading.
Ability to develop, communicate, and support a system of teaching and learning aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards
Demonstrated competence in planning, preparing, and implementing ongoing professional development and adult learning strategies.
Personal QualitiesAbility to provide leadership and direction, analyze problems, make decisions, communicate and interact effectively and professionally under pressure, communicate orally and in writing, work with a diverse staff and community.
