This hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Manager of Semen Production Logistics And Sex-Sorted Quality Control. The starting wage for a Processing Technician is $16.50 per hour.Specific duties and responsibilities of a Processing Technician include, but are not limited to,Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission: To enhance the productivity and profitability of dairy and beef producers, Select Sires is committed to be the premier provider of highly fertile, superior genetics accompanied by effective reproductive- and herd-management products and services.Evaluating motility and concentration of semen using a microscope and spectrophotometer. Entering data in a computer processing program Calculating cell needs and splitting ejaculates.Verifying calculations Pipetting and partially extending semen Assist with extending, filling, and sealing straws.Freezing extended straws and properly storing them in tanksSetting up, cleaning, and restocking laboratory A Processing Technician's work schedule is 11:30 am – 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.
