Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The School of Art and Design provides a multidisciplinary approach to art and design that offers opportunities for students to develop their creative and critical thinking abilities by thinking through making.
The school currently enrolls more than students in twelve areas across four degrees. The School of Art and Design is the most comprehensive BFA art program in the University of North Carolina system and has been continuously accredited by NASAD since .
The school has over 40 full-time faculty and is located in the Jenkins Fine Arts Center, a , square-foot facility with specialized equipment, tools, and technology for the School of Art and Design’s 14 disciplines animation / interactive design, art education, art history, ceramics, film and video production, glass, graphic design, illustration, metal design, painting and drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textile design.
From computer labs, digital looms, CNC router, and laser cutters to a woodshop, foundry, letterpress shop, black and white darkroom, and beyond, the school’s facilities are comprehensive and available to faculty and students who think, make, and work across the school’s disciplines.
Job Duties School of Art and Design is currently seeking Camp Workshop Instructors for its first Summer Art Camp for high-school students.
Program will be held on ECU campus. Applicants should have prior experience in working with this age range. Camp running time is from Sunday, June 16th through Friday, June 21st, .
Instructors will develop lesson plans, deliver instruction, and supervise the classroom learning experience in a specific course for students in grades 9-12.
Each course will run within a 5-day series of daily sessions for the duration of camp. Instructors may teach up to two sessions per day.
Minimum Education / Experience High School Diploma and technical proficiency in photography, sculpture, graphic design, textile design, film / video production, or animation / interactive design.
Applicants should have prior experience working with high school students in grades 9-12. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N / A Preferred Experience, Skills, Training / Education License or Certification Required by the Department Special Instructions to Applicant Applicants must submit a CV or resume and a list of three references, including contact information in order to be considered for this position.
