Seeking friendly and responsible Medical Receptionist with administrative support experience interacting with patients in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks. Knowledge of different insurance plans and experience with medical authorizations desirable
Responsibilities include
- Monitor intake calls, schedule/reschedule patient appointments
- Verifying insurance benefits and handling authorizations
- Data entry of new intake (EMR system); monitoring and updating patient appointments, demographics, and insurance information
- Requesting medical records
- Explaining intake, authorizations and disability forms
- Collect co-pays, late balances and post payments
- Help with billing and appeals.
-E-mail, fax or submit patient paperwork and authorizations
-Act as liaison for Physicians and surgical schedulers at Hospital and Ambulatory Surgical Center
-Verify insurance and surgical authorizations; contact physician's office for medical clearance and lab work
-Coordinates and maintain Physicians schedule for surgical procedures (pre-op, surgical and post-op)
-Obtain reports or requests, request for authorizations (RFA) and correspondence for worker’s compensation adjusters and case managers
