QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Certification
• PQCI Certification

Experience & Skills:

• 3-5 years of industry related food safety management in food manufacturing (produce industry preferred)
• Strong knowledge of quality control procedures and document control practices
• Strong knowledge of production processes and food safety protocols as they pertain to food manufacturing and processing
• Strong knowledge of government regulations and ability to navigate through continually evolving legislature
• The ability to frequently communicate complex information and interact with management, while offering training and continual monitoring of employees
• Understanding of manufacturing equipment as it pertains to the food industry
• Confidence when addressing large groups (internal and external) of diverse individuals from all levels of the organization.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
• Proficient in MS Office as well as inventory management software
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Continuous management, verification, and maintenance of EarthFresh LLC’s Food Safety Program via internal audits, documentation review (daily, weekly, monthly) and on-site observation.
2. Identify corrective actions relating to results of #1. Implement preventative measures and methods to verify the effectiveness of corrective measures.
3. Prepare EarthFresh facilities for regular audits, including resolution of orders and compliance with issued corrective actions.
4. Research and understand changing standards as they pertain to potatoes with the FDA and CFIA directives.
5. Coordinate calibrations for equipment in production.
6. Conduct semi-annual environmental testing and water sampling.
7. Where program changes are required, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food safety, sanitation, and verification.
8. Oversee sanitation employees with production management and initiate food safety related training with third party.
9. Conduct new hire and annual refresher training sessions with all employees, and initiate training as required as a result of non compliances or corrective actions.
10. Assist where required during new product development and ensure specifications are accurate.
11. Environmental testing for food contact and non-food contact in facility as required.
12. Monitor output and quality of product as per EarthFresh requirements and communicate major deficiencies to Production and/or Procurement team.
13. Supervision of Food Safety and Quality Associates with regards to daily task completion.
14. Other duties as required by the Food Safety Manager or Director of Operations.
