Job Title: Excavation Foreman

Location: Utah County

Salary: $25-$35, Depending on experience

Job Overview:

Come join our excavation team! Earth Services is looking for a working foreman to supervise a crew in the installation of pipe, underground utilities, concrete prep, and other miscellaneous materials. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, maintain the project schedule and ensure that the quality of work is in line with our company’s high standard.

The position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Supervises a crew of up to 4 employees and prioritizes work.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator experience for the role. Equipment list: excavator, end loader, backhoe, dozer, skid, forklift, and tractor
  • Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines.
  • Conducts regular safety meetings.
  • Fulfills all regular and advanced installation/construction duties, including project layout, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Organizes, supervises, leads, and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
  • Ensures his project job site has all its materials, permits, locates, equipment, and project schedules.
  • Maintains / schedules equipment service and maintenance logs.
  • Enforces all company and job site safety policies and procedures.
  • Enforces all client-required safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including crewmember discipline and documentation.
  • Submits crewmembers’ timesheets to payroll by deadline.
  • Attends company operation meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School GED
  • Excellent People and Customer Service Skills.
  • 2 years of equivalent related experience in the construction / excavation industry.
  • CDL, Class A Would be a plus, but not preferred.
  • Excavation equipment GPS dirt work experience is a plus, but not preferred.
  • Lead or supervisory experience, minimum 1 year.
  • Related experience or training preferred.
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable form of transportation
