Demolition Driver Laborer

General Duties:

The Demolition Driver Laborer will be responsible for the following:

· Assist in the preparation of the demolition site by removing debris, hazardous materials, and other obstacles.

· Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for demolition, under proper guidance and training.

· Perform selective dismantling and removal of building components according to project specifications.

· Safely handle and dispose of materials, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

· Sort and segregate materials for recycling or proper disposal.

· Follow standard procedures during the demolition and cleanup process.

· Interact closely with peers and job Supervisor to complete all demolition tasks effectively and safely.

· Maintain a safe working environment and compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines in addition to other federal, state, and local regulations.

· Clean tools, equipment, and work area.

· Complete specific projects, assignments and other tasks as assigned.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Out-of-town travel is required.

· Safe driving of company vehicles to and from jobsites.

· Safe hauling of company trailer and equipment along with personnel.

· Perform vehicle pre-trip prior to beginning workday.

· Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

· 1-2 years construction or demolition experience preferred.

· Basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

· U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien status or Authorization to work in the U.S.

· Must have a clean driving record and be able to be insured on our company policy.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands

This position is labor intensive and when performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; overhead work; balance; stretch; bend; crouch; stoop; kneel; climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding; talk and hear. Employees will use tools such as saws, hammers, sledgehammers, power tools, knives, picks, and shovels. The employee must regularly lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 60 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to wear PPE; exposed to fumes and airborne particles; exposure to work near moving mechanical parts; regularly exposed to indoor and/or outdoor temperature fluctuations caused by equipment and/or outside weather conditions in addition to humidity. Employees may experience vibration while working with sledgehammers and power tools. The noise level in the work environment will vary based on equipment being used.
