Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida is Hiring a Director of Accounting Near Fort Myers, FL
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of corporate accounting and financial reporting
- Manage and supervise a team of accountants
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial statements and reports
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Conduct cash flow analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff in the areas of accounting principles and practices
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting
- Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and general ledger reconciliation
- Familiarity with private equity accounting principles is a plus
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero or similar platforms
- Experience with tax planning and compliance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
As the Director of Accounting, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our organization. You will be responsible for overseeing corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing guidance to the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both corporate and governmental accounting, as well as experience with private equity. Additionally, proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero is highly desired.
