Early Journey Child Development Center is Hiring an Infant Room Teacher Near Atlanta, GA

Our lead teacher reports to the director, assistant director or supervisor and is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team within his/her classroom. Lead teacher is responsible for providing exceptional childcare that enhances the lives of infant and toddlers in his/her care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead by example; encourage team teaching success through modeling and coaching.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of all children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Extensive knowledge about the program; giving parents a tour of the facility and answering any question regarding the program.
  • Provides direct child care and interacts with children; ensures the safety, care, well-being, and promotion of developmental milestones for assigned children.
  • Plan individual and whole group (age-appropriate) activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Creates monthly activity schedule; including scheduling enrichment activities. Provides calendar to families.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Collect child information from parents on a daily basis to ensure quality care.
  • Ensure a child safe environment at all times. Documents all illnesses and accidents as necessary.
  • Must work around 25 hours per week to qualify for Part-time.
  • Continue with the implementation of the Pyramid model focusing on social and emotional development.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary facility.
  • Daily assessment of facility safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be required to undergo a background check prior to employment and will be subject to drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment.

Licenses/Certification(s):

Possession of a valid State Driver’s License is required - additional technical certifications may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge and understanding of child development from birth to 4 years.
  • Dynamic people, management, communication and guest service skills.
  • High physical and mental energy level.
  • Quick reflexes and responses.
  • Ability to focus on many children at one time.
  • Attend trainings and college courses as needed.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree in child development, Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education plus additional training in ECE.(preferred)
  • CDA or other Early Childhood Credential required.
  • Management training preferred – willing to take if no previous experience.
  • Current on CPR/First Aid.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
