Eagle's View Academy, a Christian, K-12 private school, located in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking candidates for the school Dean of Students position. The Dean of Students works with administrative support to ensure the formation, implementation, coordination, and consistency of the school disciplinary policy. The Dean of Students will serve on the administrative leadership team of the academy. The Dean of Students must have strong communication skills in working with the school administration, parents, teachers, and students and a strong Christian testimony, including church membership. Teaching experience is preferred . All interested candidates that meet these requirements should submit their resume.

Education

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree (preferred)

Experience

Five or more years of work with students in a school setting; classroom experience is preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Student management: work together with teachers to promote a safe, healthy, and positive learning environment in the classroom.
• Manage the day-to-day student discipline through the school’s student management system, working with classroom teachers, maintaining records and documentation, communicating with students and parents, follow up, etc.
• Enforce EVA dress code and attendance policy.
• Supervise students during non-classroom times (class transitions, lunch, before and after school, chapel, etc,).
• Work with students on issues like drug awareness, anti-tobacco campaigns, harassment and bullying, etc. as needed.
• Supervise detention and in-school suspension.
• Spiritual mentoring of students as needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance which establishes a desirable example for students.
• Show genuine concern and affection for students.
• Teach classes if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist with school administration in planning school wide events including activities which will enhance school spirit.
• Participate in other administrative duties: admissions events, special programs, teacher orientations, etc.
• Attend administrative staff meetings weekly and teacher meetings as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,500.00 - $48,000.00 per year
