Position Details:
Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Part Time 3.75 hours per day
Supervisor: Director Special Services
Contract Days: 179 days per year to begin in the 2023-2024 school year
Salary Range: $21.20 per hour
Closing Date: Open until filled with screening to begin immediately
Description:This position requires:
- Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an approved speech-language pathology assistant program
- Hold or be immediately eligible for State of Oregon speech-language pathology assistant certification granted by the Oregon Speech/Language Pathology & Audiology Board.
General Expectations:The ideal applicant will have demonstrated skills in speech and language therapy including, but not limited to:
- Conducting speech and language screenings without interpretation, utilizing screening protocols specified by the supervising speech-language pathologist (SLP)
- Provide direct treatment assistance, excluding dysphasia, to students identified by the SLP by following written treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP
- Documenting student progress, without interpretation of findings, toward meeting established objectives stated in the treatment plan and reporting to the supervising SLP
- Assisting the SLP in collecting data for assessment purposes, without interpretation
- Assisting the SLP with informal documentation, preparing materials, and assisting with other clerical duties
- Scheduling activities, preparing charts, records, graphs, or other displays of data
- Maintaining regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Performing related duties consistent with job description and assignment
A desire to collaborate with other educators and agencies, as well as the ability to adapt to meet the ever changing needs of our students is required. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating ALL STUDENTS, and a willingness to be involved in the school community beyond the classroom setting.
