Position Details:
Title: Elementary Physical Education Teacher - Eagle Rock Elementary
Placement (location): Eagle Rock Elementary (K-5)
Supervisor: Principal or designee
Contract Days: 191 days, beginning August 2022
Salary Range: $42,602 - $83,145 plus master's stipend of $2,130 (depending upon approved previous experience and graduate level credits)
Position Closing Date: Open until filled, screening to begin as soon as March 2, 2022
Description:
The Physical Education/ Health teacher is responsible for organizing innovative games and challenges that promote physical activity among all students at the elementary level. The goal is to develop motor skills, physical development, proper exercise, and eating habits among all students. The teacher must be knowledgeable about healthy life practices and use everyday relevant situations to teach these practices, must be creative and resourceful in using school space and limited resources to provide physical activities, and be flexible and engaging as an instructor for students from multiple grade levels.
This position requires an Oregon Teaching license with an endorsement in physical education or the ability to obtain same license prior to the start date. Actual classes taught will be decided based on specific areas of expertise as well as areas of need. Opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities or athletics as a coach / advisor may also be considered.
