Eagle Mine is Hiring an Underground Survey Technician Near Big Bay, MI

Lundin Mining is a diversified Canadian base metals mining company with operations and projects in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Sweden and the United States of America, primarily producing copper, zinc, gold, and nickel.
Role Summary
Ensures miners are following issued mine designs by performing daily advancement surveys and marking up production heads to support day-to-day operations Main Responsibilities | Activities
Perform daily surveys for all active headings and create daily cut sheets to support operations.
Perform calculations and monitor survey advance in relation to mine design.
Respond to survey requests as required for the mine and mill sites.
Perform stope surveys using CMS (Cavity Monitoring System) or drone and convert data to report final volume.
Mark up stope rings for production stope drillers, install survey controls, and record exploration drill hole locations.
Complete month-end measurements for underground areas and report out final volumes to the technical services department.
Complete month-end measurements for surface ore stockpiles and report out final volumes to the technical services department.
Complete quarter-end measurements of the surface waste stockpiles and report volumes to the environmental department.
Order and maintain underground survey equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying or similar education preferred. An appropriate combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree requirements.
1-2 years related experience in surveying preferred. Underground surveying experience preferred.
FAA registered drone license preferred.
Strong computer skills required. Previous experience with mining software and database management preferred. (e.g. Deswik, Leica Exchange, Skycatch)
Experience with a wide variety of Surveying instrumentation preferred.
Ability to work without direct supervision preferred.
Valid US driver’s license required.

Holidays:
365 Day Employees: 7 paid holidays; 40 floating holiday hours; Non-exempt employees receive 2x pay for all hours worked on a holiday.
8-hour Employees: 96 floating holiday hours
10-hour Employees: 110 floating holiday hours

Eagle Mine pays 100% of premiums for both medical plan options.
Eagle Mine contributes to your HSA if enrolled in the Simply Blue HSA Plan.
Both medical plan options offer 100% covered preventative care.
If medical coverage is waived, you will receive an opt out amount of $85 per pay period.
RX program included in medical plans: Optum RX
HSA and FSA:
Voluntary pre-tax employee contributions, up to IRS limit, for HSA and FSA accounts.
Debit card or claim submission for eligible expenses.
HSA:
Must be enrolled in the Simply Blue HSA plan.
Quarterly employer contribution: $200/quarter for 1-person plan, $400/quarter for a two-person or family plan.
HSA funds can be used for eligible medical, dental, vision and RX expenses.
Health FSA:
Must be enrolled in non-HSA plan.
Elected funds are available immediately, deductions are made from your paycheck 2x per month.

Use it or lose it; $610 carryover; no minimum election needed.
Limited FSA:
Can be enrolled in HSA plan.

Dependent Care FSA:

90-day run-out period
BCBSM Dental:
80% of premium paid by Eagle Mine.
Preventative care is covered at 100%; basic care 90%; major care 60%; $1,500 annual max.
Orthodontics covered at 50% up to lifetime maximum of $1,500.
BCBSM Vision:
Premium cost paid by employee.
Eye exam every 12 months
Lenses for glasses or contacts every 12 months; frames every 12 months.
401(k) Plan:
Eligible after 3 full months of employment.
Company match up to 6%.
Eligible for an added employer only contribution after 1 year of employment.
3-year vesting schedule (33.33% vested per year).
Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP):
STIP percentage is based upon stratum level and role.
Target award included in the offer letter.
Rewards achievement against business and personal goals.
Life Insurance AD&D:
Company provided life insurance: 2x annual salary; AD&D, 3x annual salary.

Short-Term Disability (STD):

Eligible after 1 year of service and 180 days of STD has been exhausted.
LTD 50% pre-disability wages with medical certification & years of service.
Voluntary LTD buy-up at employees’ expense to 66.66% pre-disability wages.
Parental Leave:
80% pay after 1 year of service, 100% pay after 2 years of service.
Maternity: 8 weeks
