(Metal Finisher Tech/Mask Shop Tech)
A metal finisher removes sharp edges, and defects from metal surfaces using hand and power tools. As a metal finisher, your job duties include grinding, sanding, and filling uneven surfaces, and coating metal, and stamping in ID#. To become a metal finisher, you typically need at least a high school diploma or GED certificate and training through an apprenticeship or technical school. You may also obtain voluntary certification in specific skill areas, such as welding or precision sheet metal work, to improve your career prospects. Additional qualifications include excellent dexterity, mechanical skills, and physical stamina.
