POSITION SUMMARY

The Materials Handler assists with the daily activities of construction equipment and inventory control. This position ensures adequate levels of material and/or product inventories are maintained and is responsible for evaluating, tracking and moving inventory needs. This position requires pick up, moving and delivery of materials via forklift, company vehicles and construction equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure consistent execution of shipping, receiving, unloading trucks and checking in materials.
Safely operate, transfer and deliver freight utilizing a forklift, pallet jack, two-wheeler, company vehicle, trailer, box truck and/or other equipment.
Operate material handling equipment to load and unload materials in a safe manner.
Assist in managing company owned and leased equipment to include but not limited to; forklifts, telehandlers, pickups, trailers, UTVs, man-lifts, and scissor lifts
Read and accurately follow material request orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped.
Perform duties that may include packing, scanning, cycle-counting or inventorying materials.
Proactively maintain jobsite organization, basic housekeeping and 5S strategies.
Organize materials, tools, equipment, collect debris, and ensure hazardous conditions are abated, mitigated or promptly addressed.
Understand a task and seek to apply continuous improvement tactics.
Comply with customer security requirements and guide others in security compliance.
Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic; wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) and adhere to all safety procedures and programs.
Maintain accurate counting of physical inventory.
Provide excellent customer service as liaison between E2 and customers
Lead warehouse team and manage warehouse tasks to completion
Assist with data collection, reporting and document management
TRAVEL: This position is generally not expected to travel. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:1 year of experience in a warehouse environment.
Experience working on a construction job site.
Experience operating/driving a forklift, company vehicles and other construction equipment.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs.
Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 consecutive years with a clear driving record.

Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data and manage database.
Ability to receive, stock, and /or deliver goods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
