E-J has a 125-year reputation for unparalleled integrity, quality, and service in the electrical field. Division: TransitLocation: New York, NYPosition Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commissioning Agent to join E-J Electric Installation Co. The Commissioning Agent will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning process for electrical, communication, and SCADA systems on large scale transit projects, ensuring that installations meet project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities: 
  • Conducting thorough inspections and testing of electrical systems during the commissioning phase.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to develop commissioning plans and schedules.
  • Performing functional testing, troubleshooting, and documenting results.
  • Reviewing design documents, specifications, and equipment submittals to ensure compliance.
  • Implementing and facilitating all contract commissioning requirements.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to project teams during commissioning activities.
  • Generating commissioning reports and documentation for client review and approval.
  • Participating in project meetings and coordinating commissioning activities with stakeholders.
  • Prepare for and run regular commissioning meetings with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate records of commissioning activities, test results, and equipment documentation.
Qualifications: 
  • 7 years’ experience in electrical contracting/engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, or related.
  • Previous experience in commissioning electrical, communications and SCADA systems, preferably in transit or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
  • Proficient in Procore.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Certification in Commissioning Process Management (CPMP) or similar is a plus.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software and tools.
