Description

Job Summary

The Parts Department Sales Representative is responsible and accountable for the sales and customer service for the Diamond Z parts product line. The incumbent will prospect for new customers, make sales presentations, prepare and present sales quotes, answer questions for customers, close sales, follow up on production and delivery schedules, and follow up with customers after completion of the order by occasionally traveling to our dealers and end users. The incumbent will be involved in the development and maintenance of department processes and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Monitors market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
  • Establishes or revises department processes and procedures including quoting, order receipt, scheduling, production, delivery, invoicing, and works with appropriate Diamond Z personnel to guide these processes.
  • Develops and maintains sales and marketing strategies.
  • Effectively communicates with customers in person, by phone, email or other means concerning questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Develops long term relationships with customers or prospective customers.
  • Maintains industry and product knowledge.
  • Recommends products to customers, based on customers' needs and specifications.
  • Contacts regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
  • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
  • Performs quarterly update of pricing for parts list.
  • Manages par level for stock parts.
  • Consult with clients after sales to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
  • Identify and qualifies prospective customers.
  • Communicates with DZ’s Engineering and Production Departments to ensure accurate specifications, drawings, and information are available to allow for the most efficient use of equipment and meet customer needs.
  • Works with modeler to ensure efficient use of raw materials and equipment to minimize rework.
  • Handles complaints, disputes, or conflicts with customers and works with the appropriate personnel to resolve issues to satisfy the customers’ needs.
  • Reports to the Production Manager and Product Support Team any instances of nonconformance of quality, customer requirements, schedule, delivery, or safety.
  • Tracks sales and leads through Epicor or other applicable CRM software.
  • Strives to maintain a safe and injury free work environment.
  • Understands and complies with all Diamond Z safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Uses and maintains required personal protective equipment as outlined in the Company Safety Manual.
  • Coordinates with the Sales Manager on Travel Schedule
  • Maintain and grow current customers’ sales
  • Willing and able to find and pursue new customers

Qualification Requirements:

  • Effective and professional communication skills (both oral and written)
  • High Level of Sales and Customer service skills
  • High level of business acumen
  • High level of dispute resolution skills
  • High level of clerical and organizational skills.
  • Effective level of computer programs including Office, CRM, ERP.
  • Effective self-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to understand Electrical and/or Hydraulic drawings is beneficial
  • Ability to occasionally travel to customer locations.

Working Conditions

The Parts Sales Representative will generally work onsite at DZ in a controlled climate office environment but will occasionally travel to customer locations or meetings. This position will also occasionally be in a shop and yard environment with possible exposure to the elements and other hazards.
