Job Title: CNC Programmer

What does it mean to be a CNC Programmer Accurate Specialties?

  • As a successful CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for a variety of aspects of the machining programming to include programming equipment, testing and determining the best programming and machining methods for our specific applications, and working with engineering on customer expectations and requirements.

You will do this by:

  • Reading technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
  • Using computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Performing quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
  • Adjusting machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Considering tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
  • Troubleshooting and resolve problems with machines as they arise
  • Performing basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
  • Training new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs
  • Writing programs and modify existing ones to increase efficiency
  • Utilizing drawings or CAD models to support program development
  • Using CAM software (Mastercam) to produce programs
  • Creating, documenting and backing-up all programs. Update set-up sheets and tool lists as required.
  • Checking completed programs by running simulations or tests
  • Collaborating with Engineering, R&D, etc. in order to develop process and parameters for incoming parts
  • Developing speeds and feeds to most efficiently turn thermal sprayed coatings and steel substrates
  • Assisting with machine shop operations including setting up new programs, training operators,

troubleshooting equipment, etc.

  • Performing First Piece Approval Quality checks including using GD&T

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work safely in a hot environment.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
  • Should have a positive and professional attitude
  • Available to work weekends and overtime
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds for short periods of time
  • Experience in an ISO-9001 environment
  • CMM experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma preferred
  • Previous Metal Processing experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Successful knowledge to create Excel spreadsheets and reports.
  • Previous forklift experience a plus
  • Solid math and computer skills preferred
  • Mori Seiki, lathe, Mastercam experience highly desired
  • Familiarity with SPC a plus

Physical | Visual Demands:

  • Moderate lifting (up to 50lbs.), bending and reaching.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Work Environment/Safety Requirements:

  • Wears all required PPE and maintains safe work practices in a heated environment
  • Awareness/adherence to Accurate Specialties ISO-9001 Quality and Safety policies.

Work Location: Accurate Specialties - 570 Bluemound Road, Waukesha, WI 53188

Shift Hours: 6:00am – 3:00pm Monday through Friday
