Description

The Sponsor requires cloud engineering support to architecture, requirements, design, and prototyping development/testing activities of the establishment of a new network. The Sponsor requires support for planning, deployment, optimizing, and maintaining the cloud-based infrastructure. The Contractor will work directly with the Sponsor, engineer and architect, project manager, security, and other technical team members for development and maintenance efforts.

The position consists of, but is not limited to the following: 

• The Contractor shall work closely with the Sponsor's Engineer and Architect to execute priorities set by the Project Manager (PM) and Product Owner.
• The Contractor shall develop and implement the architecture for a secure network that meets the needs set forth by the Product Owner.
• The Contractor shall provide continuity of access and operations by obtaining and maintaining a knowledge base of salient development information.
• The Contractor shall design and develop the Sponsor's environment that allows for the use of industry best standard security protocols to protect the Sponsor's data and cloud solutions.
• The Contractor shall work closely with the Sponsor and PM to gather requirements and contribute to the development of network-related features.
• The Contractor shall stay abreast of the latest cloud services, features, trends, best practices, provide recommendation on their adoption. 

All personnel coming into the organization undergo an additional security review that can take anywhere from 7 business days to 30 days.

Skills and demonstrated experiences that are required to perform the work include: 

• Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience and a bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing scalable and secure cloud infrastructures.
• Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, IP routing, NAT, VPC, VPN, VPS, network protocols, dedicated connections, firewalls, NDS, subnets, encryption, cloud internet services and load balancing.
• Demonstrated experience with AWS.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions including compute, storage, networking, security, and monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience working across multi-cloud network environments.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud networking using VNET, VPC, VPN, firewalls, routing tables, express routes, direct connects, network protocols, and peering.
• Demonstrated experience with traffic engineering AWS (VPC, transit gateway, CloudWatch, security groups, and ELB).
• Demonstrated experience understanding cloud security principles and best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, firewall configurations, and network security groups.
• Demonstrated experience with capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and security audits.
• Demonstrated experience creating detailed documentation of network designs and configurations.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring and analyzing network performance metrics.

Skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not required to perform the work include:

• Demonstrated experience with A&A workflows and tools.
• Demonstrated experience with Sponsor's security requirements and systems.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring system performance and recommending corrective action.
• Demonstrated experience installing and troubleshooting applications in cloud environments.
• Demonstrated experience using Azure and GCP.
• Demonstrated experience with traffic engineering and Azure (VNET, VPN gateway, firewall, and Front Door).
• Certification in AWS, Azure, GCP
