Utilizing web-based, client-server, and mainframe technologies, the client focuses on leveraging Microsoft® .NET for application development and Microsoft® SQL Server for database management within a Windows-based environment. The client's initiatives aim to enhance operational efficiency and data management across its Springfield and Chicago offices through advanced technological solutions.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our team, focusing on the development and enhancement of the Student Information System (SIS), Web-based Illinois Nutrition System (WINS), and Direct Certification processes. This role is critical in improving the data collection process for the Permanent Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program and related agency projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in data analysis, a passion for technology, and a commitment to excellence in public service.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the analysis and development of the SIS, WINS, and Direct Certification to enhance the P-EBT program and related agency projects.
  • Work within the systems environment, which includes web-based tools, client-server, and mainframe technologies, under Microsoft® .NET and SQL Server.
  • Develop browser-independent web-based applications that operate on both Windows-based PCs and Mac OS.
  • Follow the client's application development standards and procedures while ensuring maximum security of all technical solutions, which require approval from Client Information Systems management.
  • Utilize Client-approved technologies, including Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 (or greater), C#, ASP.NET, MVC, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft SharePoint 2016.
  • Employ Azure DevOps for version control and adhere to the client's Single Sign-On or Web Applications Security framework for secure application access.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • At least five years of experience in a senior data analyst role, with proven expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Minimum four years of experience with Agile software development cycles, leveraging TFS/Azure DevOps.
  • Demonstrable senior-level experience in:
  • Using Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps.
  • Developing complex queries for data requests.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Performing data quality assessments.
  • Utilizing automated tools for data extraction from primary and secondary sources.
  • Identifying and correcting corrupted data, coding errors, and related issues.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Compensation package:

  • 1099 contract

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
