Medical Billing Intern Job Description- Part time Saturdays only to start

We are seeking a motivated and eager individual to join our medical practice as an intern. In this role, you will gain valuable experience in the healthcare industry and learn about the medical billing process. 

This job is for Saturdays only until you have a strong understanding of the skills necessary and we would anticipate working you into a full time position.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with data entry of patient information, insurance details, and medical codes, take patient payments
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
- Work closely with current biller to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Learn about medical coding and insurance regulations
- Help generate financial reports and analyze billing data

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a related degree program such as healthcare administration, medical billing, or a similar field or have work experience in similar field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing codes
