Job Title: Siding/Window Crew Member

Department: Siding

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: Detroit Lakes, MN

Summary

Working with a team or individually, the Siding Crew member is responsible for the quality installation of various siding and window products for modular construction projects.

Essential Functions

• Uses purchase order to identify siding colors and brands necessary for each project
• Locates correct product and quantity
• Demonstrates proper installation procedures for different types of siding such as vinyl and LP SmartSide products
• Maintains accurate records to ensure all documents are complete and any concerns are reported
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area
• Works in a safe manner and follows all safety policies including wearing appropriate PPE
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The performance of this position requires occasional exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of safety glasses is required, and the use of hearing protection may be required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects up to 80 pounds, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor in a climate-controlled environment. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily not expected in this role, although some out-of-area travel may be expected.

Experience

• Ability to read and understand purchase orders and blueprints and identify special instructions
• Ability to identify core tools and appropriate use for each: tape measurer, hammer, drill, level and saw
• Ability to identify exterior finish tools: jig saw, table saw, caulking gun
• Strict attention to detail an order accuracy
• Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, blueprints, floor plans and work orders for projects
• Ability to use both manual and power tools
• Ability to perform physical work overhead for extended periods of time
• Ability to use mathematics and measuring devices to calculate length, width, height, depth, etc.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instruction
• Ability to lift to 80 pounds comfortably and consistently

Education

High school diploma or Equivalent required.

Maintains a valid Driver’s License
