POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern is located in Grandview, MO and reports to the Manufacturing Engineer and is responsible for implementing manufacturing techniques in response to needs, specifications, and objectives established by the corporate and development organization.

A successful candidate will:

• Work with other engineers, drafters, model makers and technicians to attain project objectives.
• Familiar with technical tools such as test equipment, computers, and related software. Ability to effectively use software productivity tools (word processors, spreadsheets, databases, etc.) as well as technical software tools (2-D and 3-D CAD, etc.)
• Assist in implementing test, validation, verification and assembly plans.
•  Apply technical knowledge and experience in defining needs and requirements for test equipment, machinery and specialized fixtures or facilities for manufacturing, lab or model shop use.
•  Keep adequate records of assignments, projects, technical and competitive information under revision control. 
• Analyze processes to increase efficiencies in production and development cycles.
• Prefer experience in 3D printing.

Requirements

Essential/Preferred Skills :

• 2D/3D CAD experience required.
• 3D Printing experience preferred.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to reach above shoulders
• Ability to walk back and forward thought-out facility
• Ability to control operation of hand or foot 
• Ability to lift / carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion.

Work environment is very fast paced. Work is primarily conducted on the shop floor.
