DVG Tech is Hiring a DRIVER - COURIER LOGISTICS Near Daytona Beach, FL

Role: Driver/Courier - Services

Location: 301 Memorial Medical Pkwy, Daytona Beach, FL 32117

Hours: 630 am to 1130 pm - this person will be a fill in driver for perm emp.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • The Driver Courier Logistics performs daily assigned route duties to areas serviced to assure accurate and timely delivery of incoming/outgoing mail, linens, reports, packages, biological specimens, and patient records.
  • The Driver maintains daily truck log of each stop performed in accordance with department performance measures.
  • Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Hospital personnel.
  • Ability to resolve with customers basic delivery problems.
  • Ability to work with people.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Orlando and surrounding areas
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Ability to use Hospital gas services and computer system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous courier experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Valid Class E Florida Driver’s license and driving record in accordance with Florida Hospital policy.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates, through behavior, Florida Hospitals core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork Safely transports biological specimens and related paperwork according to defined schedule and in accordance with department expectations.
  • Safely transports equipment, supplies, reports, and similar items according to department expectations.
  • Maintains security and proper handling of items transported. Safely transports patient care records according to departmental policy.
  • Releases films to physicians’ offices utilizing proper sign out forms. Tracks jackets and films to other facilities.
  • Adheres to defined schedule and expectations as determined by Management.
  • Always maintains care and cleanliness of vehicle.
  • Operates hospital vehicle within the laws of State of Florida. Reports repair issues affecting the proper use and safe operation of all Hospital vehicles assigned.
  • Uses functions of computer system, bar code readers, fax machine, copier and scanner.
  • Safely transports Pharmacy preparations and related paperwork, according to defined schedule and department expectations.
  • Maintain communication as required and safe driving practices. Participates in and has knowledge of the requirements for transporting of the Pharmacy preparations.
  • At all times maintain the integrity of the items being transported and all external factors (as specified) that effect the safe transport of the Pharmacy preparations.
  • Adheres strictly to Florida Hospital Compliance Plan and the rules and regulations of applicable regulatory authorities; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times.
  • Appropriately uses PPE, and follows safety policies, including handwashing.
  • Understands and adheres to Chemical Hygiene plan.
  • Employee job duties may include transport of hazardous materials from the point of generation to a designated delivery area.
  • Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling hazardous materials) and refresher training to include proper handling pharmacy preparation.
  • All transportation vehicles must have available a chemical spill kit.
  • Meets with Supervisor, Manager and Director as scheduled.
  • Notifies Supervisor of any traffic tickets or accidents immediately.
  • Communicates any discrepancies or irregularities to management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Day range:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

  • Evening shift
  • Morning shift
