Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for Licensed School Psychologist for the 2024/2025 school year. Must hold a valid Colorado School Psychologist License by the start date of the position. Begins August 1, 2024.

Job Title: Licensed School Psychologist Pay Grade: Student Service Provider Schedule

Typical Work Year: 193 Days - Calendar to be set with supervisor

SUMMARY: The mental health professional will assess and provide intervention to ensure student success and promote an exemplary education program fostering achievement for all students. Develops and promotes good relations among the school community: parents, staff, administration and other community members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Perform cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and academic assessments to maximize student achievement and success.

* Assess and provide intervention services to students who exhibit special needs and monitor progress.

* Involvement in the IEP process and meetings as needed.

* Provide school-based, multi-tiered counseling, as well as, social, emotional and behavioral intervention services to individuals, groups, and parents; including ongoing direct services to students with developmental and emotional disabilities.

* Work with building administration to identify yearly specific goals and priorities for services.

* Engage in individual and school-wide safety implementation; including crisis response, prevention assessment and intervention for students at-risk of harm to self or others.

* Differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.

* Support and actively participate in a Professional Learning Community

* Work with teachers, teaching assistants and other mental health and special education personnel to provide intervention and consultation regarding the needs of students.

* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community agencies/resources.

* Engage in ongoing professional growth and building/district professional activities. Adhere to the professional ethical standards and guidelines developed by the National Association of School Psychology, and/or the American Psychological Association.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Master's Degree in psychology

EXPERIENCE: Experience as a school psychologist preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license required. Hold a valid Colorado School Psychologist License.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

* Communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills

* Consultation skills

* Demonstrate familiarity of diagnostic tools and assessments for students of all levels.

* Demonstrate cultural competence and leadership

* Demonstrate problem-solving skills through collaborative work with students, teachers, staff, parents and administrators.

* Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis

* Knowledge of developmental, emotional, and behavioral disabilities

* Experience in data collection and data analysis

* Ability to develop and provide training related to serving students with exceptional needs

* Non-violent and physical intervention techniques

* Ability to promote and follow Board of Education and District Policies, Superintendent's policies and building/department procedures.
