Responsible position within Parking Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides directions and assistance for students, parents, faculty, and staff, as well as visitors to the campus
Helps locate buildings and offices; serves as initial contact person with the general public
In parking garage, may serve in variety of functions from receiving cash payments to directing traffic flow for special events. May also valet park when needed.
Provides assistance to the campus police officers, and while not directly related in the chain of command, will take orders from the campus police in emergency situations or when assigned by Associate Director of Parking Services
Will report to the Parking Services Work Leader for daily directions
Completes other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with good driving record
Ability to operate both an automatic and standard transmission vehicle and a minimum of one year experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills
Neat and presentable appearance
Ability to interact with the general public in a firm but courteous manner at all times, while maintaining the integrity of the parking plan established by the University.
Commitment to the University’s values of diversity, equity and inclusion, and recognition of the importance of treating each individual with dignity and respect consistent with the University’s Mission. Demonstrated experience with, and understanding of, the broad diversity of the University community (students, faculty, staff and others).
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
