FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Minimum rate: $41.17

Overall Purpose:

Under semi-direct supervision, to perform manual and clerical work associated with the requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, storing, issuing, transferring and recording of material and supplies required.

Job Responsibilities:

Issues supplementary orders to local supply houses for material and parts and contacts local vendors to expedite purchases.

Receives, checks, and inspects incoming material; stores and issues supplies as required and gives other personnel assistance in locating stores items.

Prepares shipments of parts and materials and decides upon methods of routing used in shipments.

Assigns and changes storage and bin locations as required.

Recommends substitution or inter-changeability of parts.

Assists in taking inventory.

Dispatches driver in picking up and delivering repair parts.

Instructs and directs the work of employees of lesser grade.

Receives and checks in new cars and trucks.

As required, makes periodic inspection of storerooms at service stations and works with foreman or mechanic in charge regarding maintenance of adequate stock supply.

Drives automotive equipment as required.

Establishes personal contact with dealers or suppliers regarding parts available in various locations for use at our service stations.

Performs other work related to the above as required or assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements:

Four years, or comparable, automotive parts experience of which at least one year or more shall have been as an Automotive Parts Supplier (step 4.1) or equivalent.

Working knowledge of materials, supplies and sources of supplies used by the Company, and of methods and procedures pertaining to work in conjunction with The Materials Management Department of the Company.

Ability to instruct and plan the work of others.

Ability to read and understand parts books and online publications.

Must have a Pennsylvania driver's license.
