High School Academic Coach for Students *1 year only

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Certified teacher or eligible for certification 
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher
3. Experience preferred but not required

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: To support inquiry-based experiential learning as part of an interdisciplinary team in MWV Academy at Kennett High School

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide academic support for individuals and groups of students across a variety of content areas and learning formats
2. Support student interactions with community partners. Provide coaching around professionalism, school and workplace expectations etc.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of all content areas and child development
4. Create an environment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning
5. Plan and participate in experiential learning opportunities and outdoor education experiences including team building activities 
6. Participate in design and implementation of inquiry-based learning activities with co-teachers and with students
7. Manage classroom procedures and respond to student transgressions in a comprehensive way
8. Communicate effectively with students and their families
9. Collaborate with educators within the school and with community partners
10. Implement 504 and IEP accommodations and modifications
11. Actively participate within the professional community, growing professionally, reflecting on teaching and demonstrating professionalism
12. Follow District policies and procedures
13. Complete other duties as assigned by the principal 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: One year position. In accordance with the Conway Education Association (CEA) contract

WORK YEAR: 187 day / school year position

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
