Description

We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our team within the Crisis Services Unit. Crisis Services is located in the newest building on the DuPage County Campus in Wheaton and provides 24/7 crisis mental health services to county residents who may be experiencing a psychiatric crisis or are in need of additional support for symptoms of mental illness. This full-time Community Center Support Specialist position works Sunday through Thursday from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

This is also a pension eligible position. We also offer tuition reimbursement and supervision to assist you in obtaining your Master's degree and clinical licensure.
Responsibilities

  • Manages tasks related to crisis residential milieu, including but not limited to: client needs, hourly client counts, medication observations
  • Completes client assessments, treatment plans, and other required documentation
  • Provides individual interventions with a focus on skill building, education, problem-solving and symptom stabilization
  • Provides crisis intervention services to clients via phone or in-person
  • Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to client privacy laws
  • Demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures
  • Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
  • Maintains accurate and compliant documentation and clinical records
  • Participates in team meetings and clinical staffing to ensure appropriate levels of service delivery
  • Meets established productivity standards
  • Acts as a liaison between healthcare resources and clients and assists with linkage to community resources
  • Assists in providing coordination and outreach post mobile crisis response events:
    • Facilitation of inpatient placement
    • Linkage to outpatient services
Requirements

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field, and one year of behavioral health experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Flexible Spending Accounts allow you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay expenses such as those not covered by medical or dental insurance, or day-care costs.

All full-time employees are provided a $25,000 life insurance policy at no cost to the employee. Supplemental coverage is available for the employee, their spouse, and their children.
