Occupational Summary:

A postdoctoral position is available in the Conejo-Garcia laboratory at Duke Medical School. We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative postdoctoral fellow who has a background in Immuno-Oncology, and/or KRAS targeting, with a strong interest in Immunology research. The postdoc will work on how inhibiting oncogenic signals in different human tumors, using complementary interventions, influences the tumor immuno-environment and synergizes with anti-cancer immunotherapies. These approaches will be complemented with the generation of novel recombinant antibodies targeting specific intracellular antigens, based on recent articles published by the lab (PMID: 33536615, 37909039, 34949671).

Work Performed:

  • Develop in vivo models of different oncogene-driven tumors, to characterize the anti-tumor immune response upon inhibition of oncogenic signals, and the best way of coordinating these responses with existing and novel immunotherapies. (40%):

  • Generate novel recombinant tumor cell-penetrating antibodies targeting intracellular targets and characterize their activity in vitro and in vivo.(40%)

  • Write manuscripts and fellowship applications, and present data at national meetings (10%):

  • Training of undergraduate and graduate students, participation in department activities (10%)

Required Qualifications at this Level:

Education/Training

Self-motivated individuals with a PhD in 2024

Experience

The ideal candidates should have a strong background in immunology and human cancer

Additional expertise in the generation of pharmacological inhibitors or antibodies is greatly advantageous

Skills

Candidates will develop skills in mouse models of cancer, immune function assays, flow cytometry, microscopy, biochemistry and molecular biology techniques
