Duke Chevrolet Buick GMC is Hiring a Dealership Parts Manager Near Suffolk, VA

Duke Chevrolet Buick GMC is looking for an experienced Parts Manager to join our winning team and oversee the daily parts operations. We are a family owned and operated business since 1969. Essential Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

The Parts Manager is responsible for all parts operations, team members, managing inventory and profitability of the department. Tasked with returning a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory. Accomplishes objectives using proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, and pricing. And create a positive environment for our team to succeed!

  • Hires, trains, motivates, coaches and monitors the performance of all parts department staff. A great team can accomplish a lot!
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
  • Prepares and administers a monthly & annual operating budget for the parts department.
  • Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts and the do-it-yourself public.
  • Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
  • Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover.
  • Ensures that parts inventory turns in accordance with NADA guide.
  • Assist on the retail and shop parts counter
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
  • Ensures that all parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory.
  • Supervises stock order procedures.
  • Develop a growth plan to increase online, wholesale and retail sales
  • Sets and enforces a policy on the special ordering of parts.
  • Analyzes sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals.
  • Works with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
  • Attends managers meetings.
  • Analyzes departmental operations and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness.
  • Monitors parts department employees' payroll records.
  • Coordinates a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork.
  • Monitors daily reports such as DOE, DOC and sales productivity.
  • Develops and utilizes a lost sales tracking report.
  • Ensures that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and willing to excel and grow the department. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability we look for and expect.

  • Have a positive attitude with excellent people skills.
  • Parts Manager experience 5 years required.
  • GM dealership experience.
  • Dealer Track experience preferred but not required
  • Previous record of positive management and growth of a parts department
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and team building skills.
  • Self- motivated, goal oriented and ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrate positive behaviors consistent with Duke’s values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
  • Excellent computer and parts program skills
