Duckhorn Wine Company is Hiring a Harvest Grape Sampler (South Central Coast) Near San Luis Obispo, CA

The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Greenwing and Postmark.

The Duckhorn Portfolio is looking to for Harvest Grape Samplers in the South-Central Coast. This is a great opportunity to work with premiere vineyards throughout California’s Central Coast regions. This position will assist the Central Coast’s Viticultural and Winemaking team with grape sampling, scouting, grape evaluation and data entry during the 2023 harvest season.
What we will ask you to do:

Visiting and monitoring vineyards for grape maturity.
Vineyard scouting for powdery mildew, mold, pests, and diseases.
Maintaining and updating vineyard evaluation binder with Maps and Vineyard contracts.
Grape sampling in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
Logistical support of Winemaking and Viticulture teams as needed.

What you will need:

Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Computer skills, including Excel and Word.
Positive attitude and self-starter.
Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to drive and work in various temperatures/environments.
Experience with sampling a plus.
Viticulture or Plant Science coursework a plus.

This is a part time position. Hours 6:00am - 12pm at least 2 days a week.
