Dubin Chiropractic is Hiring a Medical Front Desk Receptionist Near Quincy, MA

Overview:

Dubin Chiropractic is a small, welcoming, family-owned practice in Quincy Center, founded in 1998 by Dr. Joshua Dubin. We are seeking a Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our close-knit team! We are looking for a reliable and friendly team member to handle front desk duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, appointment scheduling/management, billing, handling insurance policy coverage, responding to patient questions and concerns, and organization and filing of patient charts.

Dubin Chiropractic specializes in the treatment of sport, work, and auto-related injuries. Dr. Dubin has published papers on the treatment and prevention of various musculoskeletal injuries. Dubin Chiropractic’s office is conveniently located across from the Quincy Center T station, and we validate garage parking, so there would be no cost to park.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

General:

  • This role will report directly to Dr. Dubin.
  • Greet patients and visitors in a manner that demonstrates courtesy, service, respect, and privacy.
  • Have a solid understanding of services available at Dubin Chiropractic and the ability to explain these clearly to prospective patients.
  • Provide clear driving and parking instructions to patients.

Appointment scheduling and insurance:

  • Answer phones to schedule appointments and manage appointment bookings.
  • Check for insurance coverage for new patients with varying health plans and complete insurance coverage form.
  • Communicate directly with insurance providers for clarification on coverage or any issues that may arise with coverage.

Billing:

  • Daily billing of services performed entered in Bradford Medical Day Sheet (this is where billing information is stored).
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, or other cash payments not covered by insurance provider and issues receipt for transactions.
  • Answer any billing-related questions that patients may have.
  • On Fridays and Mondays, ensure all weekly Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Worker’s Comp notes, all patient information requests by Bradford (outsourced billing company), and Bradford day sheet billing codes are copied and mailed to Bradford.
  • For all PIP patients, checks and Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s) will be copied and placed in patient files.

Patient charts and information:

  • Organize patient charts and have patients complete initial intake form upon arrival.
  • Write detailed notes in patient files any time there is activity on a patient account.
  • Address and mail patient reports to outsourced company.
  • At end of day, save all patient information and office materials to Lytec (billing software) and external hard drive.

Other:

  • Office laundry will be picked up and delivered by a laundry service. Pre-folded gowns and towels will be placed neatly and in a timely manner on the shelves in treatment rooms on the day delivered.
  • Order supplies when needed for operation of office.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of customer service experience, ideally in a medical/healthcare setting.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of medical billing experience is a huge plus.
  • Enjoys working with and interacting with people daily, with a professional and personable demeanor.
  • Ability to seamlessly navigate customer interactions and handle multiple tasks with grace.
  • Excellent communication skills in-person, on the phone, and written.
  • Ability to be trusted to manage confidential patient information.
  • Always punctual and on time and communicate if an emergency arises.
  • Self-motivated to make best use of time with any down time.
  • Technical skills: MS Word; internet search capabilities so check insurance benefits information; understanding key search terms; experience using a medical billing system is a plus.
  • Must have reliable form of transportation to get to the office Monday-Friday.

Pay Range: $20-25/hour, contingent on experience.

**Please note: We do NOT offer any type of medical benefits.

Working Hours:

Monday – Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break from 12:00-1:00pm

For proper operations of Dubin Chiropractic it is imperative that the Front Desk Medical Receptionist is prompt on arrival at 8:00am., lunch hour from 12:00pm - 1:00pm and departure at 5:00pm. There may be some flexibility to come in later on Tues/Thurs and leave later.

Paid time off:

10 paid vacation days per year.

Holiday Schedule:

Dr. Dubin will select 10 holidays each year that will be paid time off.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
