Job Posting Title: Team Lead, Accounts Payable

SUMMARY

The AP Team Lead works with the Global AP Manager to ensure accounts payable policies and practices are followed in all entities and that new AP processes are implemented successfully by the AP team members, and summarize current financial status by formulating accounts analysis, collecting information and preparing weekly, monthly and various reports necessary. This position will assist the Global AP Manager in developing and preparing necessary AP reports, KPIs, and other deliverables as needed, as well as monitoring the activity and performance of the AP team members. The AP Team Lead will have contact with managers which requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist AP Manager in delegating tasks and responsibilities to AP Specialists
  • Help monitor AP Specialists performances and follow up with them to see if assistance is needed.
  • Assist in problem-solving, researching root causes and communicating to internal/external customers to reach resolution
  • Maintain internal and external relationships by providing excellent customer service including, but not limited to, monitoring invoices and recording to allow timely and accurate payments
  • Prepare weekly payment runs; manage prepayment requests.
  • Distribute clear and updated communications with all departments in regard to department policies and procedures
  • Primary trainer of AP personnel. Assist in training staff and developing processes within the department
  • Reconcile vendor statements for large accounts; assist in resolution of disputes and manage invoice workflow within approval system as well as help the team conduct theirs when needed
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement with the AP departments and work with AP Manager to implement new processes as needed to increase overall department capacity, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Oversee and monitor various AP reports for unusual items; ensure timely follow up
  • Support enhancement projects pertaining to procurement, payable processing, or settlement, as needed.
  • Support the month-end closing process through preparation of schedules and/or journal entries as agreed upon with AP Manager, local CFO and Sr Manager, Financial Controlling.
  • Manage vendor letters, as assigned
  • Ensures that all invoices comply with both internal and external audit requirements and local country(ies) legal rulings. Raises any invoice queries, resolves, and identifies problem areas and brings them to the attention of manager with proposed solutions
  • Other applicable duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Three (3) years or more prior experience in an AP role.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite – Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • ERP System

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, and verbal)
  • Written (punctuation, spelling and transcribing accurately)

Mathematical Skills

  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures

Other Skills

  • Good understanding of established general accounting policies and procedures
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and able to perform with minimal supervision
  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Must possess integrity and be able to manage confidential information with the utmost care, security, and discretion
  • Strong analytical, organization and problem-solving skill
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others within and across functions at all levels of the company
  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously and effectively
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be available to work some weekends and holidays due to end of month close
  • Ability to complete task with minimal direction from manager

  • SAP/ Priority experience
  • Strong communication both oral and written

  • Minimum 5 years AP experience
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

For this position, the expected base pay is: $29.75 - $40.25 / Hourly. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
