DSM is Hiring a Remote Inside Sales Specialist

Inside Sales Specialist – Remote (US/Canada)
You Will:
Handle DSM’s existing small and local customer segment. The overall goal is their customer satisfaction. The Inside Sales Team will be the main contact point for this segment and answer all questions around quotations and products or if needed reach out for support to other internal functions. The Inside Sales Team will have in person contact with accounts on trade shows and industry events.
Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with existing customers: Reactive support on the following topics:
    • Quotation Process
    • Basic Technical/nutritional advice (if more complex, Inside Sales reaches out to respective team, if within service guideline)
    • Product/formulation requests (Provide commercial materials to improve customer knowledge of DSM products/services as needed)
    • General questions
    • Proactive development of selected and predefined existing customers, via proactively locating and prospecting new opportunities for DSM, following up leads and contacting customers
  • Interact with new customers: Small and local customers will not be approached proactively but Inside Sales will be responsible if the customers approach DSM
  • Close Collaboration with CCS, Technical, Nutritional Service teams (be well networked within DSM ANH in order to direct or respond in a timely manner to a customer’s inquiry or need; Seek advice or input from team members for ‘Out of Scope’ customer requests)
  • Act as first line technical representative to customer and qualify customer needs. Follow-up on all aspects of requests, both written and verbally. Match DSM products, capabilities, services to customer requirements
  • Selectively participate in trade shows, meetings and industry events to meet customers and maintain business contacts
  • Maintain accurate account files of all customers including all written communications via CRM
  • Continually increase communication and relationship building skills as well of knowledge of products and markets

You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business/marketing field or science/technology required; animal science degree preferred
  • 2 years of related experience in sales, sales support or marketing and/or 2 years in customer service public speaking or training role preferred
  • In-depth knowledge about Animal industry market segments including their manufacturing processes preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of market requirements and typical specifications a plus.
  • Extremely, motivated, energetic self-starter with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced, highly visible department and ever changing environment
  • Extremely resourceful, assertive individual with ability to recognize and deliver insights and solutions to internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills needed for tracking, managing and analyzing customer lead effectiveness
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as relationship building skills for interacting with internal and external customers
  • Results oriented individual with an ability to be flexible and creative in order to manage a variety of customer requests and requirements.
  • Ability to be comfortable in working independently and confident in making decisions as it relates to obtaining information for customer requests.
  • Continually strive to increase skills and knowledge of the business well as growth for the company
  • Prior work experience with identifying and creating new customer and projects.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
